Are you a believer?
Then Jesus is your king right now!
We know that Jesus is King of kings because scriptures say so.
Revelation 19:13, 16 reads:
He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. . . . On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
Jesus declared his kingship when he rode on a colt as Zechariah wrote, “BEHOLD YOUR KING IS COMING TO YOU, GENTLE, AND MOUNTED ON A DONKEY, EVEN ON A COLT, THE FOAL OF A BEAST OF BURDEN.”
Jesus is still declaring his kingship over your life right now!
His kingdom will never end!
Daniel saw a vision in Daniel 7:13–14:
I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him;
His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.
The bible says that the Lamb of God will conquer Satan, the dragon and the false prophet and become king of kings and lord of lords as we read in Revelation 17:14:
They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful. Then God will establish His throne in the city of God or the New Jerusalem where God will dwell with His people! Yes, He will be King but I want you to receive the revelation that Jesus is already King in THIS MOMENT — HERE AND RIGHT NOW! The good news for all believers is that Jesus is already King over our lives. Right from the moment, we were saved by the working of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, and we received the Lord into our hearts and accepted Him, He is more than just Savior but the King of our lives.
We do not have to wait for Jesus to come again and establish His Kingdom, the city of God, the new Jerusalem to establish Him as King over our lives. Jesus became the King of your life the moment you received Jesus as Lord over your life. He has kingship over you. Jesus spoke several parables where He spoke about kings such as the parable of the wedding banquet (Matthew 22:1-14) and the parable of the unmerciful servant (Matthew 18:23-35). In each of these parables, He was referring to Himself as King. The charge written against him read, “THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS”. The most prominent sign of the End of the Age is the Son of Man appearing in the sky, with power and great glory. He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call and gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. (Matthew 24:30-31)
Jesus said to His disciples in The Great Commission: “All authority in heaven and in earth has been given to Me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
So what does it mean to have Jesus as King over your life?
Jesus is holy and calls us to a holy life that is totally consecrated to Him. We must not fear man or what man can do to us because Jesus is Lord and nothing happens without His knowledge.
We must not worry about our lives because He cares deeply for us. We should not worry because Jesus as King will see to it that our needs are fully met. We just need to be good subjects, submitted and honoring our King Jesus. We must prepare for His coming and not forget that He has already spoken and warned us from heaven.
What should we do now?
He instructs us to keep watch, because we do not know the day He will come (Mat 24:42). He desires that we be equipped with the armor of God and be a spotless and blameless bride when He comes to take us. He expects that we will be the faithful and wise servants who will provide food and nourish the Body of Christ.
Matthew 24:45-47 reads:
“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.”
We are to be like chosen servants doing the perfect Will of the Lord when He arrives. Even if the Lord delays His coming, we should not become weary but continue to work relentlessly. The Lord will greatly reward us for our efforts and put us in charge of His Kingdom. As our Lord and King, He has the right to command us to do His Will. Yet He desires that we will do His Will out of love and reverence for Him, for He is wise and mighty and will certainly perform His Will in the days to come.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help us to do your will and to obey your commands to the least commandment. Help us to be watchful and alert, praying at all times for your Kingdom to come and your Will to be done. Indeed, yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
